So after all that food... it's time to tour the streets of Montreal! it's quite beautiful really, despite how winter dulled its colour palette. I am really thankful for the weather we had, cause I was really not expecting much when I decided to visit Montreal in early February, it was 1-2 degree Celsius! but of course, I also dressed very warmly!
While we walked down St. Laurent road, we saw this guy with some really long hair!!!! it's like really really long! I personally do not have the patience and the hair quality to grow my hair to that length, so I was thoroughly jealous!!! though I do not wish I had his hair...
just some random fun things I came across ~
We then came across a shop that sells army supplies. what first caught my eyes was a huge bumblebee transform display in the window display! he was my favourt transformer of course!I was actually a little afraid to go inside because it was not really my store of choice, it was playing really loud music and the shop keeper looked scary.... but bf was really into the army stuff so I was dragged in... I can literally feel people staring at me thinking "what's she doing in here..."
there was this huge ass Starwars? figure? I think... that was pretty awesome.. the detail is just amazing!
there were all kinds of war plane models and army clothes.... its on St Laurent street in Montreal if anyone is really into that kind of things~
here is the bumblebee I saw... I could not get a good shot from the outside because there was too much glare >.< I wonder if it can be transformed into a car!!!this also grabbed my eyes.. it's a poster of this guy "Wang Jie" who is suppose to be a hero during the Chinese revolutionary war... I always want to show off my Chinese pride!!! and so proud to see it in a Montreal shop ^.^
That night we went to "illuminate Montreal" an awesome outdoor winter festival event that had a lot of great food and creative things!
that event had these awesome fire pits for people to hang around and keep warm! there are like garbage cans but there are these rings around it to keep people away from the fire. it's like a great fire place where you can relax and chat with friends.... there was actually a shop that sold hot dogs on a stick and marshmallows on a stick for you to roast them over the fire!! how creative!!!
there were these fire pits through out the whole area and they lit up the whole place, it was so pretty... wish Toronto would do something like this!!
there were also a lot of performances put up by companies, this one is of Bell... though I do not get it... I hope someone will... there were a lot of people taking photos with them.. but I do not know why.... it's not like they are Disney Princesses.
and of course the Ferris wheel is always a must have!!!!
this is really cool! this had this station where you can write personal messages to people and there is this machine to displays it on this building... some of the messages were really sweet... but there was a huge ass line up! though the concept is really simple...but really cool and sweet!!
And of course, what is a great out door event without some outdoor concerts!!! though there were speaking french... and I do not no idea.. it looked really cool.... and they had some really high tech things that bf was really impressed with!!!!
but the MOST awesome thing has to be these slides! they set up a really really big slide that you can slide off of!! really brought back good memories.. you get to compete with another person to see who gets to the end faster! I think I made it sound really boring... but it is really really not! people were lining up for hours just to play it!
over all! some really really new things that I have never seen before.. maybe it's just because I have not gone out enough... but everyone seemed to be having some really good time! I think the event is over now.. but I am sure the next event will be just as fun!
