The Works

like I have previously mentioned, I went to montreal during parts of my reading week.... but before I post all the awesome things I did in montreal, I absolutely need to catch up on all the things that happened beforehand... during my exam period.... and yes.... I found time to have fun even during exam season >.<

 I remember back in the fall term, when "The Works" just opened, people were lining up outside the doors just to try it.... I have always hated waiting and long line ups... so I waited until recently to try it... and I have to say it was pretty good!

while I was eating .. I was thinking what type of restaurant "The Works" is .... I think it's more than the typically American burger joint.. it's more like a theme restaurant... a garage themed restaurant... lol

atmosphere: a little noisy >.<

The menu was printed on sheets of paper.. not laminated or anything... I guess they have to reprint it a lot... cannot help to think of all the trees that are killed... >.< love to awesome measuring cups..  but not sure if it is consistent with the theme i mentioned earlier.. maybe they should have used tin cans or something.. .if the owner of five guys is reading this... take it as a suggestion lol..

the menu is a little complicated... and I did not understand it much when I first looked at it.. so here is to make sure you do not look like the idiot I was asking how to order...

for the burger section.. you can choose the type of bread and the meat portion! so you can choose white or whole wheat bread... and choice of beef burger, chicken breast and turkey burgers etc... (there are a few more) and then you choose the toppings... and there are a ton! The price comes with the topping choice~ you also get to choose a side... some of the choices are coleslaw, onion ring, fries etc... I personally over the onion ring.

a look at the restaurant~ a lot of pipes. we went at around 9pm.. and the place was still pretty packed!

the table is burned with their name~ I like it!

and just some more minor detailed like the light bub salt and pepper shaker before food comes..

Here is our order of Belgian Frites, which is a combo of sweet potato fries, onion ring, and fries! you also get to choose three dipping sauces.. I choose jalapeno mayo, cool tzatziki, and sweet and spicy sauce <3 I personally liked the tzatziki and sweet and spicy sauce.

the Frites was awesome, especially love the onion ring!!! the sweet potato is really good to ... fries was ok too... the onion ring has a really good coating, really crunchy! the onion ring really thick too, create tasting too<3

here is our smoky mountain burger, with whole wheat bun and chicken breast! mountain burger has awesome bbq sauce, bacon, and cheese. Since I already ordered so much fried things, I thought coleslaw side would be a good idea... but now I kinda regret now ordering more onion ring!! cause its sooo good!

 

in total we spend about $24 + tips, though we shared one burger, it was more than enough to get us both really full... though.. bf ate a lot more than I did.. lol.. we really liked Belgian Frites a lot more than the burger... so in the future we will probably go there to chillax and have a little fried goodness!!!

 all in all, we really liked the restaurant! we have been to a lot of restaurant around the world, it has to be one of the top ones! the only thing I feel could be improved is the service, the restaurant is quite busy, and the servers is a little under staffed. though the staff is very nice!
