Reminiscing

I can still remember exactly what happened last year this day, it is the second day I was at Wuxi (the city where my bf is from) and we went to ChangZhou (常州)

I probably have said this a million times before.. but I miss the great time I had in HongKong! I cannot think of any other time in my life when I had soooooo much fun! and met soooo many great people! Every time when I am stressed out about something, I would think that if I was in Hong Kong, none of it would matter!

I think while exchange is a great experience, too much of a great experience makes people refuse to move forward. I get Facebook status updates from friend I met Hong Kong reminiscing about the memories all the time! I would think that there were no better people I could have met than who I have met. There were no better experience I could have had than what I had.

I try to keep a piece of memory alive whenever I can, so I kept a lot of things I got while I was aboard.

The journey started from the two acceptance letter from my home university (Queen's) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). I remember the day when we went to see our offers.. I was so nervous thinking I might not get my first choice... but when I asked bf.. he was like.. "of course I got my first choice"... sigh...

On the top right corner of the pic are my plane tickets from Toronto to Shenyang (沈阳),an airport closest to my hometown ... and from Shenyang to Shenzhen where I crossed the boarders to get to Hong Kong.

I was talking to some of the exchange students at Queen's this year and they all said that they are going to miss Queen's Soooo much... even though they did not like it at first.

Well... I was like that too... I remember that I spend the first day that I was alone in Hong Kong crying.. I . I did not have interest access .. and I did not know anyone... I ate very little during the first week because I had no appetite .... and I got sooo skinny... ( I was kind of happy about that..)

My bf soon came to Hong Kong to spend time with me .. and we went to Disney land, Ocean Park, peak trim, wax museum .. just about every where in Hong Kong.. I kept the tickets to the places we went.. I like the Disney tickets the best, (they are in the right side of the pic.. the ones with Micky and Minnie pic) the wax museum tickets are the ugliest.. (they are the ones with a huge "30" printed)

Thanks lg for being there for me <3
Disney maps, Ocean Park map and tickets, night safari map in Singapore etc.
For my birthday, I went to Singapore to spend it with my bf. The blue receipt like piece of paper is actually my plane ticket... the most sketchy piece of plane ticket I have ever gotten! We went to a lot of places in Singapore <3 China town, Indian Town.. NUS, Night Safari and we spend my birthday in Sentosa! I know there are many more places we should have gone to... but that just means we will need to go back there again! yeah!!!
Finally, on December 8th, I flew to Shanghai to go to bf's home in Wuxi (a city beside Shanghai) where I had the greatest time!! (I saved the flight tickets, they are on the top left) I got to travel around the whole province with the convenience of the high speed bullet train!! it is absolutely amazing!! China is way ahead of the world in terms of transportation technology!! I saved the tickets from the rides back and forth from Wuxi, they are the teal coloured cards on the top right corner. The rest of the things in the picture are tickets to attraction we went to while traveling around the province. We went to the world expo.. though when I got there.. only the China pavilion was left open... but the design and the construction is absolutely amazing!

bf really like aquariums, we have been to multiple aquariums from around the world!!! sooo of course we went to the one in Shanghai! the tickets are the pink ones in the top right corner... with the jelly fish on it~
While I was in Sentosa (Singapore) I got my caricature drawn! I have to say it looks pretty good! the artist was kind to me.. some of the other people's were really ugly!
here is the SIM card I used while I was in HongKong... I only spend about ¥60 hongkong dollar on phone calls during the four month I was there... granted I did not make very much phone calls.... but the phone plans are also incredibly cheap there!!!!
I also kept my student card from HKUST... <3

I will probably continue to remember everything that happened during exchange years from now....
