[stop 1] Montreal - Resto La Banquise 24th

I have been hesitating to write blog entries on my trip to Montreal cause sooo many things happened and it will just take me forever to finish an entry.... loading pictures will be a pain in the ass.... SO! I have decided to post entries by events and not by days... this way it will allow me to finish each entry a lot faster!!!!

This time we stayed in Montreal for 3 days!!! it was so awesome, having learned so much about Montreal from the last trip, I did a lot more research! and planned out an awesome weekend for my bf and I!! having the extra day give us time to do some much more!!! cannot wait to tell you guys all about it.

Resto La Banquise 24th
location: 994, Rachel Est, Montréal
phone: 514.525.2415
average spending: $8/ person
atmosphere: very artistic decor~
taste: 8.5/10 (best poutine I have ever had!)
service: 8/10

after we settled down at our hotel...we ventured towards La Banquise - Poutine, said to be one of the best poutine places in Montreal, the city that founded poutine!

located at 994, Rachel Est, Montréal, it's about a 40 minute walk from my hotel, which is right beside the bus terminal where I got off.... typically I would not walk that far just to eat poutine, but some of the food review site said that it is worth going out of the way for... so I did!
the restaurant is very considerate, it has both french and English menus, when I was waiting in line to be seated, I grabbed a menu to see what I wanted to order, it was in french, and knowing how terrible my french is, I had little success trying to guess the menu items >.< but when I was seated, the waitress give us two English menus.. which I was very happy to have!!!

bf ordered the "Poutine Dan Dan" which has pepperoni, bacon and onion! and I had the "Poutine Galvaude" which had turkey and peas! I went for a healthier option.. which I later regretted..
we went during lunch time and the place was packed! a long line up eventually formed at the door~ but no worries, it went really fast! the one tiny criticism I have about the place is that it took a little while for the waitress to take our order, but it was lunch time, there are a lot of people, it's understandable.
bf playing with his phone.. the whole place has a great artistic feel to it, a unique visual appeal!

a little cam whoring before the food arrives, looking back at the long hair I had before... I do not miss it at all!

here is my "poutine Galvaude"
and bf's "Poutine Dan Dan"
The orders are huge! I especially loved their fries, initially I thought it was sweet potato fries because it was sweet, but bf told me that it's not.. ..I still think it is >.< for some reason their pepperoni is spam like... but it was really good none the less, the bacon was salty, and the onion was juicy! pairs perfectly with the fries!

on the other hand, I felt my turkey was not seasoned enough, fries is naturally pretty blend tasting, and without something salty to pair it with, lack of flavour is the only thing I can think of! If you are not obsessively health conscious, I would not recommend Poutine Galvaude, but if you are... you should not be eating poutine at all...

we were bloated when we eventually finished our order... next time I think we will just order one large order instead of two small orders~ but it was worth the opportunity to try two flavours!

Now that you are all done salivating over delicious food, perhaps you would not mind me recapping the start of our Montreal trip.

For reasons unknown, bf suddenly is very interested in traveling! (he had told me before that he hate traveling >.< ) originally we were planning to go to somewhere in the States.. Florida to be exact... cause bf wanted to go to the original Disney land after having so much fun in Hong Kong Disney land last year... but our time did not quite work out... bf needed to be in Toronto on Monday... which only leaves three days for us to travel ... factoring in the traveling time.. Florida was not realistic... but we will be going there for sure in the near future! it is officially on our list of travel destinations!

our trip started early Friday morning, and yes, we both skipped our class for the day (>.< so bad) here is something interest about me, I never feel the need to put on any makeup when I am with my bf... (cause bf tells me he cannot tell the difference, not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing... ) I did not bother to put on anything for the whole trip...apologies in advance???  the reason I am mentioning this is because I was actually criticized on a youtube video of my where I did not wear any makeup

but then a lot of good people that helped me to feel better...

got a little side tracked there... back on topic...
I planned to read bf's book " innovator's dilemma", but it talks about the same concept that I was tested on a day ago... so I was not OMG..!!! WHY??? so I slept the rest of the way there...
