SINGAPORE ADVENTURE - SENTOSA

On October 23, Saturday, my boyfriend took me to Sentosa for a day of fun.

Sentosa is one of those places you must go if you are ever in Singapore, it has something fun to do for everyone. From Casino to beaches to 4D movies and Universal Studio!! It is truly Asia's favourite playground!

If I could go again, I would arrive early in the morning so that I can have more time to enjoy everything.  There are multiple ways to get to Sentosa: Cable cart, Sentosa express, or car. I went by Sentosa express from VIVO city, it is the most convenient route when traveling by MRT (underground train).
My strategy to get around place I never been before is to follow other people who look like they are heading to where I am heading, in this case I end up joining a long line up which I later found out to be the place to purchase combo tickets such as thrill package, fun  package or the Halloween package.

SINGAPORE ADVENTURE - FIRST IMPRESSION

Because my boyfriend is on exchange in Singapore, I was lucky enough to see the country, and the city through the  local's perspective.

For the past month, Hong Kong had started to cool down, this morning, the temperature was only 23. I expected that Singapore would have also cooled down, this however was not the case. As soon as I stepped out of the air conditioned air port, a layer of hot, humid air covered me, the air smelled like fire and everything felt sticky. This was 11 pm! You might have noticed the odd comment about Singapore air smelling like fire, yes, it does, the local told that this is because every year during October, Malaysia would set part of its forest on fire to enrich its soil, so every year around this time, Singapore's air is especially bad and dusty.

As we made our way to my hostel, I noticed that

SINGAPORE FLIGHT UNDER TYPHOON MEGI

I have been planning my trip to Singapore since the beginning of the summer, two weeks ago, I knew that the weekend of OCT 23 was perfect, I would have finished all of my mid terms, no major assignment is due the following week and it's my birthday. It was perfect until I received the horrible email on Tuesday night from my home university, Queen's, to warn me about the super typhoon Megi, which hit south east Asia on OCT 18 and making its way towards Hong Kong....... two days before my flight. Hong Kong became extremely windy in the next two days  and I became increasingly concerned with flying under the typhoon warning in Hong Kong.

MY TRIP TO DISNEY WAS....

....AWESOME.

I have to admit, although I have lived in North America most of my life, I have never been to Disney Land. But now I am in Hong Kong, and Disney Land is only a train ride distance, I have no reasons not to visit Disney Land for the first time!

HONG KONG OCEAN PARK ADVENTURE WITH .....

..... ME OF COURSE

Ocean Park is a must go place for any one who visits Hong Kong, and I am not exception. The day I went was scorching hot, and waiting in line for the rides made it worse.

FUN THINGS TO DO IN HONG KONG (shopping version, 购物篇)。。。

...... IN DANYANG'S EYES o(≧v≦)o~~

Hong Kong is known as the shopping heaven (购物天堂)and it most definitely lives up to the claim. It has every type of brand name, and infinite unknown brands as well. There are clothes, makeup, food, perfume from across the world. my friends suggested for me to buy lots of Japanese make up because its cheaper there, but unfortunately it does not provide translation to most products, so I have no idea what it is or what it says for the instructions.

THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE FROM SHENZHEN TO HONG KONG IN ONE WORD WOULD BE.....

........... NIGHTMARISH.

One of the worst experience I have had this summer was traveling from main land China to Hong Kong. Even with the one country two system policy, crossing the boarders was not made any easier... at all!

The starting point of my trip is North Eastern China (东北), and one of the more economical way to travel would be to take a plane to ShenZhen (深圳)and

WHAT I MISS THE MOST ABOUT CHINA IS .........

...... MY FAMILY
I have a very large extended family in China, 3 aunts, 3 uncles, 7 cousins, and all of them lives in the same city, and everyone is extremely close to each other. Canada is great in many ways, but it can not replace the happiness family brings.

During my time in my home town, YingKou (营口), I was able to experience a completely different lifestyle, a family oriented lifestyle. In the morning I would meet up with one of my cousins to go shopping, when we are done, my uncle would come and pick us up to go to my grandpas'. After a day of work,

IF YOU PLAN TO TRAVEL TO CHINA, I SUGGEST......

.....FOR YOU TO GET MOSQUITO REPELLENTS  AND AN EMPTY STOMACH

When I lived in China before the age of ten, mosquitoes was an big part of my daily life, I planed my day around it, and did as much as I could to avoid it. I, unfortunately, am not the type of person who have a great deal of self control, I usually scratch until
