Oct 23! OMG I am 21 >.< old... ..... recently i have been looking at my photos from a few years ago and ones I took in first year university... I do look much older... bigger bags under my eyes, wrinkles?
wish I can be forever 21.... sigh..
I actually started my 21 by watching dateline... late at night. pretty interesting! hope the rest of 21 is interesting too <3
here is the first photo I took of me at 21 years old..
Montreal has some really awesome graffiti! maybe Toronto has some too.... but I am not in the downtown area much.. but certainly not in Kingston! this is kinda of bad pic... does not show off how beautiful the graffiti actually is! I, myself, have learned all kinds of visual arts for years... and I do admire the free style of the graffiti, the lack of planing and just draw what you feel like! cause when I draw there is always a lot of outline, proportioning etc...
this is not even the best graffiti! they can be a tourist attraction by themselves. .. maybe... >.<
so like I said in previous posts... I did not a lot of research on restaurants, and one of the branch places I found was "Le Cartet Inc." being a business student.. my first impression was ......> inc?? i thought it was a restaurant??? But it is a restaurant la.... and the line up is huge! there were 10-15 people lined up at the door! and based on my rule of thumb for picking restaurant.. line ups are always a good sign!
although the line up was long, it was fast, we waited for about 10 mins. While we waited, they had some awesomely unique chocolate displayed at the entrance area.. like chili chocolate! that's have to be unique! though I am too afraid to try the chocolate myself.. I decided to get it to give to someone as a gift! lol.. I will let you guys know how they like it >.<
i LOVE there water jug! its a wine bottle... soooo unique we got seated by the window (love~)
I ordered baguette with jam, the baguette was really really hard! especially after they have toasted it! like really hard! would not order again...
and bf order their combo, it was in french.. but basically its all the major meat groups... bacon, ham, sausage, beans, grilled season potato and scrambled eggs! it's like a meat feast!
I guess a tradition.... not a tradition... a habit we have is that we always share food... so do not be like.. (omg her bf is so mean for only getting her baguette >.< lol.. no la..)
here is the side that comes with bf's feast of branch
with 2 chocolates I bought ( about $12) the total came to 38.43! and there is a mandatory tip of 15%! so if you pay tips by service, like I do...., you would not be so thrilled. and they kind of rip me off too... I had to pay tips on the 2 chocolates I took off the shelves myself! I got no service for that!!!!!!
next time gotta be careful! I m getting a little unhappy just thinking about it!
they then came across a protest! these people are hard core! they actually set up tents and had power generators and wash stations just to protest!
I think they are protesting something about sustainable environment, but it was in french! (again, donot speak french that well) the protest actually attracted a lot of photographers! I thought it was some street market cause there were a lot of people talking photos (not sure how I made that connection ... .lol)
we then took the subway to go to the bio-dome, which is the site of the Montreal Olympic stadium that accumulated huge amount to debt that took a long time to be paid off...
Montreal subway was really good! a lot better than Toronto's similar to Hong Kong's MTR.. though not as good!..
so far, of all of the cities I traveled to... Toronto has the worst ttc system... we are still using tokens... when the rest of the world had switched to cards! ( though to be fair... Toronto is working towards the presto cards)
here is me inside the biodome.. my photo was low on battery.. so did not take as many photos.. but the bio dome is just like any other zoo/ocean park.. things... bf quite enjoy these things, so we went to a lot of them from across the world .. there is also the option of going up to a really top of the bio dome to see the whole city and a botanical garden... but we also been to a ton of botanical garden and decided to skip it b/c it was really expansive.. though its a little bit cheater for quebec residence... (heng!)
me with bat eats
me inside a really large and fake penguin egg..in the penguin section lol
here is how the chocolate looks like.. its vacuum sealed! very cool!
bf actually had a lot of work that weekend.. but went to Montreal with me instead (thank you lg muahhhh) so lg took some time to do his work while I rest before going back to Kingston <3
for dinner.. we had ramen at Sumo Ramen in Montreal's China Town (google it if need address etc), per person spending of around $9 and I really liked their ramen, especially their soup base.. but when we walk in we could not find any seats because the tables were not clean... en... could be improved! I ordered bubble tea and fried chicken strips with ramen!
wow.. it took me almost two weeks to post everything... i apologize for the slowness... lol.. hope you all enjoyed it! <3 Sunny
