Life have been so hectic for the past few days, between travelling, put up new DIY videos every week, work and family life, I was forced to put this blog on the back burner. But it was certainly not forgotten, I am jumping right back on since I have a little time now.
Like I mentioned, I was travelling, to New York specifically. My boyfriend and I were at a cottage in upper New York state for two and half days then we enjoyed the city life for another two and half days. As you can imagine, Manhattan is hectic as usual. Between the congested one-way-streets and the people rushing to get out of the MTA, I am quite sure I would not be able to find anther city that's as "happening" as New York. Having lived most of my life in Canada, I am not sure I will ever get use to the dirty streets and the lack of lush greenery. Despite all, I still had a wonderful time.
Wow, what a huge digression, I am really writing this blog to post the DIY tutorial below. Since I was travelling, I made a roll up toiletry bag to carry all my make up and toiletry items.
Hope it will become handy! Remember to subscribe for more DIY videos by clicking HERE

How I Spend A Thousand Dollars to Get Clear Skin
Posted by

Before and after picture coming in a few hours
I have completely overhauled my skin care and diet routine not so recently, I now wear no primer, foundation and concealer of any kind and only rely on my unprocessed Shea butter as a moisturiser. My skin looks better than ever!
The whole thing started about eight months ago. It was before Christmas when I first noticed that a large acne on my face had not gone away after a week, and then it was two weeks, by the third week, it was finally gone... but before I could breath a sigh of relief that all the photos I will take during Christmas wouldn't be completely ruined, three more of what I thought was acne popped out. The only thing I was hoping at this point is that they would go away before January rolls around and I go back to China to meet my boyfriend's family. But of course, I was not so lucky. My skin had only gotten worse when I left for China, and by this time, I was sure it's not acne, so I suspect it might be some form of eczema.
I stayed in China for 3 weeks and it was an uncomfortable experience at best (skin-wise). My skin condition deteriorated very quickly, and I clearly remember my boyfriend's aunt suggested that I go for treatment so I can be "prettier." What a slap in the face. I do not blame her though, it was very bad, it was all over my face, neck, and arm. I was in a state of a minor panic, thinking, is it ever going to get better?????
Both my mom and my boyfriend's family suggested me to try traditional Chinese medicine, but I hesitated initially because I was still foolishly thinking it will go away on its own, plus I was afraid to be tricked by the doctor since not all traditional Chinese medicine practitioner are legit.
At this point, I stopped using all skin care products and cosmetics in case that is what was causing it. Besides it was not able to cover the weird skin condition anyway, it looked even worse with make-up on.
A week before I was due to leave China, I was so desperate that I decided to give traditional Chinese medicine a try. No matter what happens, it cannot get much worse than it already was.
So after a few thousand RMB, $500-$600 USD, I was told that my kidney and spleen is weak and I need to stop eating all fried and raw foods. Both the kidney and spleen is responsible to remove toxins from the body, and the fried food I ate had damaged my kidney and spleen so much that it can no longer expel the toxins fast enough, so it showed up on my skin. I was prescribed a ton of Chinese herbal medicine and warned against eating fried and raw food. Thinking back, I did eat a lot more fried food while I was in China, though by no means was it a lot, which is probably why my skin condition worsened so quickly.
It took 2 and half month to get my skin back to normal. My mom was happy that there is no scars, my boyfriend was happy that I have clear skin again. As shallow as it is, which guy does not want a pretty girl? And most of all, I was happy because not only was my skin back to normal, it's better than before! Probably because I stopped using all skin related products. let's face it, all cosmetics are man made and contains ample amount of toxins, and either a dirty brush or the dust collected on the product will clog your pores, causing acne.
What I find with skin care products is that, your skin is great while using it, but as soon as you stop, pimples and white heads starts to appar everywhere. Which make me question what kind of scary chemical, likely cancer causing, is in the product? I am terrified of chemicals, you never know when someone is going to tell you a certain product you used will give you cancer.
I did fall off the wagon a few times, and give into chips or fried chicken, my skin bitch slapped back at me with pimples and the weird skin condition I had before. So now a days, I eat no fried food, wear no skin make up (though I still use eye shadow and eye liners), and my skin thanks me with clear skin. it's that simple.
So if you are sick and tired of pimples and acnes, change up your diet and skin care routine, and give up all fried food and skin care products!
