[REVIEW] Glymm Bag September 2012

Monthly subscription bag is all the rage right now, and I kinda got sucked into it as well.. but first, here is a little background story on how I ended up signing up for Glymm...just skip this part if you are thinking "Stop bsing lady, and get to the review."  in which case, please skip to where the pretty pictures start.

Unlike US, Canada does not have very many subscription services. There are actually 4 major ones, and my top choice was actually Topbox. I watched and read many Topbox reviews, and it seemed to have the greatest value. BUT! There is a 6+ month wait for the membership, seriously, whoever the owner is, has to seriously reconsider the business model, it's like I am saying,
and they are saying, NO~ it's like WTH???

so my second choice is Luxe box by Loose button, but they recently switched to seasonal boxes, and I simply do not want to wait 3 months to get my first box. So I looked to Glymm, which is my third choice. There is no major pros or cons, but it fitted my need at the time. And of course, there is Glossy Box, which is $20+tax per month, and I thought was a bit much for my first subscription box.

So let's get on with the review. First of, it was not an awesome bag that I hoped for, but I do love skin care and hair care products, but, this is my first bag, so I have nothing to compare to~

Here is an overview of the things I got in my September Glymm bag. It came in the cream bag you see in the picture, I know some people love it, but it's definitely not of the greatest quality, and I would be embarrassed if my friends saw me using it. I guess it would be of greater use to me if there is a strap on it for easy carrying.
I guess the big ticket item this month are these Evolvh shampoo and conditioner. Apparently, they have a great reputation. They did leave my hair somewhat soft and smooth, but the result was not of any level of significance. Glymm also advertised that they are not tested on animals, and honestly, I can tell because it's not the easiest product to use. The first time I used the shampoo, I had to use nearly a quarter of the bottle to lather my hair, cause it does not lather easily, and the same thing happened for the conditioner as well. Glymm also claimed the sample is good for 14 uses. A LIE! if you have short, short hair, then maybe, but considering most girls have medium to long hair, there is no way this tiny bottle gives enough product for 14 uses, more like 5-7 uses.

The full size shampoo, 8.5oz, cost $24, and $25 for conditioner, the sample bottle is 2oz, you do the math... (approximately $12 value)

the second product is this Benta Berry face cream. The height is about the length of your pinky finger, very little product, but surprisingly I got about 7 uses out of it. Nothing special, no major pros or con, aka not worth switching from the Olay face cream I am currently using, which is cheaper. The full size product, 30 milliliters, cost $19, sample value: $1.90

The third product is the Villainess Dulce En Fuego Whipped Body Creme. This is the product I absolutely LOVED!! It has to be my favourite, favourite hand/body cream of all time! It has the most heavenly smell, kinda like vanilla and cinnamon and whipped cream. The cream is whipped so it feels very light,  not greasy, and it is quickly absorbed by the skin, leaving it feeling soft and moist. I definitely recommend it.

The only thing I did not love about this product is its labeling, I had to go online to search for the full name, and cannot tell what its call at all from the label itself.

The last product is The Waterprood Makeup Remover wipes from LA Fresh. There were two wipes that came in this month's bag, and I used one already to try it out. The sheet actually unfold to a really large size, close to the size of a letter size paper. It's kinda of a waste really cause I do not think anyone will use up the whole sheet unless you have heavy, heavy makeup on. I did not love the product itself, maybe it's just me, but when I was removing my eye makeup, the product stung my eye a little, which never happened with any of the other eye makeup remover I have used. It was not super effective either, so because it hurt my eyes so much, I do not think I will be using the second one. I know other people loved their nail polish remover, but the makeup remover definitely did not do it for me.

So, that's what I thought of the September 2012 Glymm box. Let me know what you think~
